My 84th birthday, opportunity to clarify my identity

Born as a baby in a working-class family of 6 in Wetzikon ZH, I was very well protected, next to my 5 years older brother Huldrich and my 3 years older sister Gret.

As the youngest child, I looked up at both of them into adulthood. Huldrich was a wonderful and very talented brother. Gret mothered me as much as she could and I gladly let it go.

My parents hardly had any time for me.

My father, born on December 12th, 1912, as a group leader in the gearbox manufacturing department at FBW (Franz Brozincevic, Wetzikon), had a small wage in relation to the family costs. My mother, born on February 12, 1907, reduced the costs by sewing the children’s clothes herself. In the evening the parents were together in office as school janitor to give us children a good education.

My eldest brother Kurt, for example, attended the private teachers’ seminar in Unterstrass in Zurich. As a trained machine draftsman, Huldrich was able to graduate the dayly technical center in Winterthur, which made him an engineering HTL. My sister Gret became a work teacher.

Only me at that time I had no ambition and did not follow the advice of the secondary school teacher to go to middle school. On the free afternoons I preferred to go sailing in the self-made sailing boat by Huldrich rather than studying. Sailing was my passion. Huldrich and I were successful regatta participants, not only with my brother at the wheel. He shared his boat in partnership with me. In return I helped him with the maintenance. Later we bought a “Pirat” (German jawl) together. In the summer of 1966, shortly before my marriage to Ursula, we, me at the tiller, reached 2nd place at the Swiss championship in the pirate class. The event took place in a gusty Maloja wind on Lake St. Moritz in the Engadine. The following year we became Swiss champions on Lake Zurich in very light winds, with Huldrich at the rudder.

My ambition really awoke at Maggi Kemptthal (Nestlé), where I was practically the right-hand man of the finance director and advanced to the position of authorized signatory. With the academic community I acquired the certificate federal accountant. (Federal Councilor Maurer has the same title). With over 40 years of age, I even got the Swiss federal tax expert diploma.

After my Big Bang experience in 1980, a difficult time began for me with a number of psychotic attacks. It is worth mentioning that in my psychoses I learned a deal of humanity. In 1991 I was declared fully disable by the finance department, which enabled me to achieve my long-awaited professional independence.

In 2000 I signed a preliminary agreement with my successor for the sale of Saldor Treuhand AG and Saldor Revisions GmbH. These contracts became final in 2002 and 2003. I don’t need to explain in more detail that it relieved me mentally to be relieved of the annual psychiatric exams when I entered the AHV age.

Now we are in the year 2021

Holding the Heavenly Father’s hand, JAHWEH, I confidently look to the future.
