Yom sheni – 23th elul 5775 – “Bible in our time” – dream 4 h

 

Just now, in my zeal, I made a mistake with my “donkey”. Not for the first time, annoying! The whole text captured so far is gone, since unsaved.

 

 

The dream content was no longer present to me; only the title I thought of after awakening. The Sunday service rose before my eyes. Less of the sermon remained in my memory than the side remark that today is the seventh day. After all, today is the 1st day of the week, which Christians have set in place of Shabat! I realize that I want to approach the priest after the service.

 

 

Thought, done. The priest stands by his statement and is even firmly convinced of it. Today is a day of rest. I should read Genesis 1:1:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Revised Elberfelder Bible)

 

 

This theologian must be confused. What creation has to do with resting is his problem. I remind him of the ‘jom rischon’, the first day of the week when Jesus Christ rose from the dead. That is Jewish, he thinks. That Jews and Christians have the same GOD is obviously not present to him.

 

 

Later, as I return from the WC, I meet a male member of many years of the ‘group Bible in our time’. He seems to be waiting for someone. Courageously I approach him and ask him how Friday was. Quite normal, as usual. What the group had done with the faith. Since he doesn’t understand what I mean, I specify faith that can move mountains. Aha, that is not to be taken literally. Yes, agreed, but the power that is meant behind it?

 

 

Yes, also he signed the letter because I spread on my Internet page things about “Bible in our time”. That I seem to be talking about a huge movement there.

 

 

With the “expulsion” from the group, a job had been terminated to me for the fourth time in my life. A dream had brought me close to this job at that time.
