I am in morning prayer. At my request with my eyes open … “as in heaven, so on earth” … it flashes like a flash of light, without thunder. It touches me because it is really my wish to experience heaven on earth. It had flashed several times before, with eyes closed. Then more thunderbolts were added; a real thunderstorm (not foreseen by the weather forecast). The one silent flash remains impressive to me. There are various lightning references in the Bible.

Matthew 24:27 particularly appealed to me:
