Shabat question for all of humanity

27th March 2018
jom schlischi – 11th Nissan 5778 – what if Jesus had been raised on Shabat and not on the 1st day of the week?

For several days I have been worried about the Shabat question. In the closest circle of friends I referred to the 4th commandment, which should actually also apply to Christians. The 10 commandments are in both the 2nd and 5th book of Moses.

I quote from Deuteronomy 5: 12-15 from the New International Version (NIV)

12 “Observe the Sabath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you.

13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,

14 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do.

15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabath day.

The Roman emperor Constantine, who worshiped the sun god, had sacrificedly declared Sunday to be a public holiday instead of Shabat in AD 321. The Catholic Council of Laodicea followed him in AD 364.

My “donkey” had made it clear to me during the day that the Sunday question is an important question. The preamble to the 3rd Testament was once again changed and expanded by an invisible hand:

First day of the week – 11 Tishri 5778 – Sunday – the day of the sun

I came across the question in the title through an article in “GOOD NEWS”. It refers to the prophecy of Jesus that like Jonah he would be in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights and then be resurrected, which is not true from Good Friday to Easter Sunday.

Since I always experienced something special on the Sabath, I looked for the Christian Sabath Hagadol, the great Christian Sabath. It was on this occasion that I discovered the expanded and amended preamble to the 3rd Testament.

After all of this, I realize that Jesus was raised on Shabat. He met Mary Magdalene on the first day of the week when it was still dark.
