jom shishi – 17 Adar I 5779 – The 2nd divine principle

In preparation for Shabbat, I care for my feet on Friday afternoons. With a special callus rasp from the drugstore, I work on the callus of my feet and then bathe them in warm water for 20 minutes. Afterwards I anoint my feet with a foot cream to keep the skin supple.

While I sit still bathing my feet, important thoughts go through my head. For a long time now, the grace and truth of God have been very important to me. God, the absolutely righteous and the absolutely true, is with me all the time. When I drink red wine, which reminds me of the Last Supper of Jesus, but also when I give thanks for the food, the word is often present to me.

Today justice and truth stand before my eyes. I ask God to show me the truth about me before the truth about other people and to make justice more important to other people than my own justice.

When we finally arrive in heaven, the glory of God by grace and truth will also become a reality for us humans. Then we will be perfect, like our Heavenly Father, what Jesus already foresaw or demanded in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:48).
