Thursday – Yehoshua

I get up at half past one because sleep doesn’t want to return so easily. Not surprising, as I keep thinking of my pastor whose advisory mandate has come to an end. In one e-mail he described my mind as a battered neurobiological mind that claims me to be the savior of Israel. In a second email he writes: “From your sense of mission I have to infer a psychotic, pathological mental trend.”

I get God’s answer to this in my internal motto (lot) in Joshua 1.5:

לא-יתיצב איש לפניך כל ימי חייך כאשר הייתי עם-משה אהיה עמך לא ארפך ולא אעזבך

“Joshua 1:5 New International Version (NIV)

5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

My heart rejoices. God cannot speak to me more clearly. Just as Joshua (= Yehoshua) was a follower of Moses, I (Yehoshua) am a follower of Jesus Christ.
